Terms of Use

Ship Mate is operated by The Shopify Guys Pty Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”). These Terms apply to your use of the Ship Mate website and service. By using Ship Mate, you agree to these Terms. Ship Mate is primarily intended for Australian ecommerce businesses.

Your account and information

You must provide accurate and current account, Shopify, recipient, parcel weight and dimension, and shipment information. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for activity you authorise through your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authority.

You are responsible for ensuring your goods are lawful and suitable for the applicable shipping service, and that you are authorised to provide and use information about recipients and orders.

Shopify connection

You may authorise Ship Mate to access Shopify information required to import and manage orders and fulfilments. You remain responsible for the accuracy and lawful operation of your Shopify store and order information, including permissions needed to share that information.

Prepaid shipping credit

Shipment charges are deducted from your available Ship Mate credit. A shipment cannot proceed where sufficient available credit is not present. Ship Mate credit is not a bank account and does not earn interest.

Refunds and adjustments may be made where required by law or applicable Ship Mate service rules. These Terms do not create a general cash-withdrawal entitlement.

Shipping rates and quotes

Registered Australia Post rates start from $4.95 including GST.

The $4.95 rate is a starting rate and does not apply to every shipment. The applicable shipping rate may increase for larger parcels and is based on the parcel details and the rate quoted by Ship Mate for that shipment.

Where available, the applicable rate is shown before the shipment or label is generated.

Signature on Delivery is an optional additional service currently priced at $0.55 including GST.

Parcels with missing or invalid shipment information, or parcels requiring additional review, may be held for manual review before a shipping rate can be confirmed.

Ship Mate may change future rates or service conditions prospectively. Changes do not retrospectively alter a completed shipment charge.

Shipping services and delivery

Fulfilment and delivery may ultimately be performed by third-party postal or freight networks. Transit and delivery times are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise. Ship Mate is not responsible for delays outside its reasonable control, subject to rights that cannot legally be excluded.

You must not use Ship Mate to ship goods prohibited by law or by the applicable postal or freight service. You are responsible for checking applicable service requirements before submitting a shipment.

Cancellations, refunds and adjustments

Cancellation and refund availability may depend on whether a shipment has already been created, processed, lodged or accepted by the applicable shipping network. Cancellation and refunds are not automatic.

Refunds or adjustments will be provided where required by applicable law or applicable Ship Mate service rules. Contact us with the relevant shipment details so a request can be reviewed.

Third-party services and availability

Shopify, Stripe, carriers and other service providers operate under their own terms and availability. Their outages or changes may affect Ship Mate. Maintenance may occur, and uninterrupted access is not guaranteed.

Acceptable use and suspension

You must not misuse Ship Mate, interfere with its security or operation, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary for fraud, abuse, unlawful use, security risks, unpaid amounts or a material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and what is needed to resolve the issue.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

Intellectual property

Ship Mate branding, software, website and original content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use them as necessary for your permitted use of the service. These Terms do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property or third-party intellectual property to you.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and future pricing prospectively. Material changes will be reasonably communicated where appropriate. Changes do not retrospectively alter a completed shipment charge or remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, subject to any rights under applicable law that cannot be excluded.
